WHAT'S ON FOR 2010
All our workshops are available for group bookings or one on one appointments. All drum materials are supplied for you, being rawhide and drum hoops. All drums hoops are made from solid cedar.This page lists workshops to be held at our premises in the Penrith area and workshops organised by third parties at alternative venues. Each drum workshop is completed within one (1) day starting at 9am with introductions and opening prayer.
If you want to make a drum you don't have to wait for a workshop to be posted on this page. You can contact us to arrange for a one on one drum making workshop at our place or host your own group with Wolf Drums.

Prices for drums made during our workshops are set at the same price as a finished drum made by us. We charge no extra for our teaching during the workshop. Fuel charges may be applicable to group bookings at alternative venues depending on location.
Native American Style Drum Workshops
All our Native American Style drums are made using solid cedar hoops and genuine rawhide processed by Wolf Drums. The image on the right is an example of what you will be making.

Siberian Style Shaman Drum Workshops
These workshops allow you to make your own Siberian Style oval shaman drum. These are traditionally oval in shape covered with either deer or horse hide.
For workshops we offer them in one size using steam bent cedar hoops and genuine rawhide processed by Wolf Drums.

We are currently scheduling our calender of events and workshops for 2010. If you would like to book a group workshop for Siberian Style drums, contact us as early as possible.Further Information
- Depending on location, we suggest you bring a packed lunch as cooking facilities may not be available. Tea and coffee is usually provided. The workshop host may choose to cater lunch for the workshop or participants may bring food to share.
- All workshops are completed within one day starting at 9am with introductions.
- The species of rawhide selected is specific to each workshop. We will not mix hides. The choice of hides depends on availablity. For workshops we primarily use red deer, fallow deer, and horse. Kangaroo and Elk are not as readily available, but are still used in workshops when we have enough in stock. Bison is not currently available for workshops.
Payments for All Workshops
- Deposits are due on the date specified for each workshop to guarentee your placement. The minimum deposit we accept is $100 which is non-refundable if you change your mind. If you have paid your deposit but through unforeen circumstances you are unable to attend, we can transfer your deposit payment to another workshop or offer you a credit towards a purchase which is valid for 6 months (conditions apply).
- Where no deposits have been received the workshop can be re-booked or cancelled. We will not chase up late payments.
- The final balance is due on the day of the workshop. We accept layby if you wish to pay your drum off - please discuss this with Graeme or Diane as early as possible. The minimum deposit payment we will accept for layby is $80. Where workshops have been organised outside the Sydney metro area, travel charges will be added to the cost of each drum.
- If you've paid your deposit but can't attend the workshop? For participants who have paid their deposit but are unable to attend our workshop due to unforeseen circumstances you may choose to transfer the deposit to another Wolf Drums workshop or purchase a product from Wolf Drums at an equal or greater value, with the difference payable at time of purchase (unless you would like to arrange a layby).
- If you are making a drum with us at an alternative venue please note the organsier of the workshop may charge a small fee towards covering the cost of venue hire and other overheads.
One on One Workshops
- One on one workshops are available by appointment. These can be arranged either on weekdays or weekends. Please phone us to book in a workshop at a mutually convenient date. As with group bookings you have the option between Native American or Siberian Style drums. One on one workshop are held at our location in the Penrith area starting at 9am. Please note cooking facilities are not available, however tea and coffee are provided.
Organising Your Own Drum Workshop
- If you would like to organise your own group for a drum workshop with us at an alternative venue, please contact us to discuss your options. Once deposits have been paid, the choice of hoop and hide are final.
- For Interstate workshops we ask for a minimum of two workshops over one weekend. We require Six (6) to ten (10) people per workshop. We are prepared to travel just about anywhere in Australia for drum workshops, so please discuss the details with us prior to making a booking.
